Tour operator “Pegas Turistik” has delivered flights to Cairo from St. Petersburg. This is stated in a message on the company’s website on April 27.
The program starts on May 4 and will run weekly on Wednesdays until October 27 this year. Tourists will be delivered to resorts by buses. The list of regions is planned to be expanded in the near future.
As Profi.Travel explained general director of the tour operator Anna Podgornaya, the airline tried to get admissions from several regions, but the Federal Air Transport Agency approved only one – from St. Petersburg. “If in the future we are agreed to operate flights from other cities, we will plan them too. Of course, this is not bad against the background of closed Turkey and other summer destinations, but we are looking forward to receiving permits for direct flights to the resorts, ”Podgornaya stressed.
We remind that earlier ANEX Tour made a similar decision – in early May, flights to Cairo are planned from Yekaterinburg, Krasnoyarsk, Novosibirsk and Kazan.
As a reminder, it became known today that the Russian Foreign Ministry has reached certain agreements on this issue with the Egyptian side, and, possibly, in the near future, the resumption of charters to Sharm el-Sheikh and Hurghada will be announced. Other carriers also have permits for flights to Cairo from the regions.
According to experts, it will take no more than two weeks to deploy charters to Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh, and this will happen after the May holidays, when the operational headquarters will allow flights.
Egypt, meanwhile, is actively preparing to receive Russians and hopes to receive more than a million tourists from Russia by the end of the year. You can find out about the current situation in the resorts, how the prices in hotels have changed and what to expect for the first charter passengers, you can find out on the air as part of the OTM-Summer 2021 exhibition, which will take place on Wednesday, April 28 at 13.00.
Only important. For the pros only.
