To remove coronavirus restrictions, it is necessary to vaccinate half of Russians – 68.6 million people (excluding citizens who have been ill and children under the age of 18). Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova announced this on February 8.
She noted that it is this number that will indicate the formation of population immunity in Russians from coronavirus. “Until these indicators are reached, we must comply with the restrictive measures that have been introduced,” she said at a briefing, advising everyone to get vaccinated as soon as possible.
The speaker also added that the situation with the incidence of COVID-19 in the Russian Federation has stabilized. However, the situation differs depending on the region. Thus, the excess of the national average values by two or more times was noted in Karelia, Kalmykia and St. Petersburg. The minimum levels were recorded in Tatarstan, Chechnya, Dagestan, the Nenets Autonomous District and the Krasnodar Territory. The leaders in the number of cases are still Moscow and the Moscow region.
At the moment, according to Golikova, 5.5 million doses of Sputnik-V vaccine have been produced in Russia, of which 5.3 million have already been delivered to the regions. In the opinion director of the Sputnik V vaccine development Center. Gamalei by Alexander GunzburgJudging by the pace of production, the opportunity to vaccinate 60% of the Russian population will appear by the middle of this year, while in Europe and the United States, vaccination of all comers can be completed by September or October.
At the moment, the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation and Rosstat do not publish vaccination statistics, however, according to regional media publications, as of early February, about 1.78 million people (1.18% of the population) were vaccinated in Russia. By calculations portal gogov.ru, that is how many Russians received the first vaccination, almost 148 thousand people are fully vaccinated.
In terms of the number of vaccinated per capita, the leaders are Israel (5.5 million or 64.26% of the total population) and the UAE (4.3 million or 43%) and the United Kingdom (12.5 million or 18.5%). In absolute numbers, most of all were vaccinated in the United States (41 million people or 12.45%), where almost 1.5 million citizens receive a daily dose of the vaccine.
In Russia, on average, 68,608 people are vaccinated with the first component per day (based on statistics for the last week). If this rate of vaccination is maintained, 50% of the Russian population will receive the first vaccine component only after 1,046 days, i.e. almost three years later.
According to President of the country Vladimir Putin, vaccination in Russia is voluntary. However, at the end of December, the Ministry of Health approved an updated National Vaccination Schedule for Epidemic Indications, which made the coronavirus vaccine mandatory for doctors, teachers and social workers. In a number of regions, there have been reports of coercion of vaccinations under threat of dismissal since then.
Only important. For the pros only.
