Corridors for vaccinated travelers may appear at Russian airports, with such a request the Ministry of Transport appealed to the operators of air harbors, write Izvestia 27 April. According to a representative of the ministry, this issue “deserves attention and requires study.”

Initially, the UAE Embassy in Moscow approached the Russian Foreign Ministry with such an initiative, and at the end of March, the Department of the Middle East and North Africa of the Russian Foreign Ministry sent the Federal Air Transport Agency a proposal to create corridors for the vaccinated. The Ministry of Transport, in turn, asked the aviation harbor to consider the initiative. First, such corridors will appear for those arriving from the UAE.

The final decision on this issue has not yet been made, at the moment the idea is being discussed by the competent executive authorities. However, according to the Izvestiya source, Rospotrebnadzor has already opposed it.

A Vnukovo spokesman said that they are ready to set aside separate check-in counters, security checkpoints, landing galleries and even a separate terminal, but first it is necessary to understand the requirements of Rospotrebnadzor and other state regulatory bodies in order to calculate the budget and plan the available infrastructure.

Domodedovo is also ready to consider the proposal, but recalled that there are no unified international approaches to using data on vaccinated passengers to optimize pre-flight and control procedures.

We are ready to consider this issue in Pulkovo too, but at the airport they reminded that the conditions of entry into the territory of Russia are established and controlled by Rospotrebnadzor.

According to Oleg Panteleev, Executive Director of the Aviaport Agency, passengers will not receive a tangible benefit from the creation of a corridor for vaccinated passengers, since on international flights the most time is spent by border control, which is under the jurisdiction of the FSB border service. “Vaccinated passengers will not be able to get an advantage in the form of priority passage of border control, since the FSB border service does not have documents regulating this kind of acceleration of procedures. Thus, even the creation of special corridors for the vaccinated will not solve the main problem – waiting in line at passport control, ”the expert noted.

Only important. For the pros only.
