The demand for rest in Russia will fully recover in early 2022, the head of the Federal Tourism Agency Zarina Doguzova is confident. “In terms of the dynamics of the industry recovery, since last year, we are among the leaders among all countries,” – told she is TASS on the sidelines of SPIEF.

The head of the Federal Agency recalled that last year the tourist flow amounted to 60% of the 2019 level (when the borders were opened and tourists from abroad entered the country – editor’s note). “This year we predict that the industry will recover by 80% in relation to 2019, while in the resort and natural areas we expect an increase 15-20% to the indicators of 2019, both in money and in tourists, ”Doguzova noted.

In the industry, indeed, an increase in the flow is noted in almost all regions of Russia.

Thus, according to TravelLine statistics, the most massive destinations – Crimea and Krasnodar Territory – added 57.29% and 44.35% of armor, respectively, to the indicators of 2019 for the same period, from January 1 to May 30. Demand for the most popular urban tourism destinations is also growing: Moscow region – plus 39.9%, Tatarstan – 39.66%, St. Petersburg – 25.48%. The flow to the Kaliningrad region, where there are both beach holidays and sightseeing holidays, increased by 55.39%.

Experts believe that such success was achieved largely thanks to the cashback action, but at the same time, they doubt that after the opening of the borders, Russians will just as actively book Russia.
