The head of the Federal Tourism Agency Zarina Doguzova and the head of the Federal Service for Consumer Rights Protection and Human Welfare Anna Popova held talks with the Egyptian delegation headed by the Minister of Antiquities and Tourism of Egypt Khaled Al-Anani. The communication took place in the mode of videoconference, the press service of the Federal Tourism Agency reported.
The main topic of the conversation was the situation with the coronavirus in Egypt, measures to prevent the spread of the pandemic, as well as the readiness of the infrastructure of Egyptian resorts to receive Russian tourists.
“In connection with the cancellation of restrictions on flights from Russia to the resorts of Egypt and to ensure the health of Russian tourists, an agreement was reached on sending a Russian delegation consisting of representatives of Rospotrebnadzor, Rostourism and other interested executive authorities to the Arab Republic of Egypt for a joint assessment of the epidemiological situation, preventive measures in the places of accommodation of tourists, the possibilities of laboratories and medical institutions. Also, in the near future, it is planned to prepare and sign a memorandum between Rospotrebnadzor and the Egyptian Ministry of Health on cooperation in the fight against infections, ”the Federal Tourism Agency said.
At the same time, the department did not indicate when the visit of the delegation could take place. The date and program of the trip will be agreed in the future.
Zarina Doguzova also proposed to create a Russian-Egyptian contact group, which will constantly monitor the situation and exchange information related to Russian tourists.
In fact, the decision to open Egypt will be made according to the same scenario according to which the decision was made to resume flights between Russia and Turkey in June 2021.
